Day 1: Arrive, Explore, Unwind
The drive from Sydney to Pokolbin is approximately two hours via the M1 Pacific Motorway, making it an easy Friday afternoon departure for most families. Once you have checked in to Palmers Lane Estate and unpacked, let the kids stretch their legs on the playground, kick a ball around on the soccer field, or shoot some hoops before heading down Palmers Lane to one of our friendly cellar doors.

Day 2: Wildlife, Chocolate and Open Air
Start the morning at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park on Broke Road, just a short drive from Palmers Lane Estate. The zoo is home to lions, giraffes, meerkats, and a fantastic petting farmyard where younger children can get hands-on with native animals. Daily talks and animal encounters run throughout the morning, with the koala talk typically at 10:30am. Allow two to three hours.
From the zoo, make your way to the sweet heart of the Hunter Valley. 5-Day Hunter Valley Family Itinerary

Day 4: Hunter Valley Gardens and Peppers Creek Village
Spend a few hours at Hunter Valley Gardens on Broke Road. The 25-hectare gardens are magnificent in every season, and offer additional events throughout the year that you cannot miss including Snow Time (late June to late July), Christmas Lights Spectacular (November to January) and Mega Creatures (March to April).

Day 5: A Slow Morning, Then Home
